As a Newborn Portrait Photographer in Milton Keynes, I know that for many parents, a picture of that perfect new baby is more than just a photo.
Every single image has the power to transport you back to that moment you saw your new baby for the first time. You’ll recall how you felt when the midwife placed your tiny baby in your arms, remembering just how small they were.
The first 21 days after a baby is born is the very best time to capture those cute curled up sleepy poses. This can also be a time where you are feeling exhausted and overwhelmed and struggling with sleepless nights.
You’re head tells you that you don’t want to miss anything. Yet you also want to remember every tiny detail, from tiny toes and perfect fingers, to sleepy yawns and wrinkled brows. The issue for many new mums is the sleep deprivation. This means you not only forget what day it is, you forget all those tiny details.
Trust me when I say it’s not that we want to forget, its just that we have so much going on. Sleep deprivation, hormones all over the place and trying to work out why your beautiful new baby is crying. Are they hungry, do they need changing, are they sleepy, then on top of all that the endless stream of visitors.
Your brain has so much to cope with that you miss or forget the way their ear folded at the top when they were first born, or the way their hair curls.
Newborn photos have the power to capture that and preserve it.
